Joint application

There are three joint applications per year. In the spring's first joint application in January, you can apply to our English-language degree programmes, and in the spring's second joint application in March to our Finnish-language degree programmes. In the autumn, one joint application will be organised, in which applicants apply to both our Finnish and English-language degree programmes.

Applying for higher education degree studies in Finland is done online on Studyinfo.fi. You can find the application process explained in detail on that site. 

Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. Read more about the application fee on Studyinfo. 

Also if you are a non-EU/EEA or Switzerland citizen, you might have to pay a tuition fee for your studies. Please check detailed information about tuition fees and scholarships.

If you are planning on applying for Bachelor's degree programmes, you need to have a higher secondary certificate (e.g. high school diploma) or a certificate from a higher level of education (e.g. Bachelor's certificate).

When applying for Master's degree studies at Haaga-Helia, you need to have a Bachelor's degree or higher and at least two years of work experience after completing the Bachelor's degree. Relevant degree and work experience depend on the desired degree programme. Either the Bachelor’s (or higher) degree or the work experience must be from the field of the degree programme.

Fill in and submit the online application form (available on Studyinfo) during the application period.

There are several application forms on Studyinfo at the same time, so please make sure you fill in the right one. Read the admission criteria carefully before applying.

You can apply to Haaga-Helia's bachelor's degree programmes conducted in English through the Joint application process twice a year, in January and in September. Detailed admission criteria and the application form (only during the application period) are available on Studyinfo.fi. The joint application period for Haaga-Helia's master's degree programmes conducted in English is only in the autumn.

Documents required for your application are listed on Studyinfo. You can attach these documents to your online application. Deadlines for the required documents are given on Studyinfo, as well. Please see frequently asked questions for the required documents of eligibility by country.

You can fill out the application form and send it without the required documents if you do not have them available when filling out the form. You can attach the missing documents to your application later through the link which you receive from Studyinfo to your email address or by logging into My Studyinfo -service with Finnish bank identification codes, mobile certificate, or certificate card.

Refugees and asylum seekers

If you are a refugee or have status comparable to a refugee or are an asylum seeker and cannot thus verify your previous degree with required attachments, Haaga-Helia may still invite you to the entrance examination. Read more on Haaga-Helia´s website

Provisions on eligibility for universities of applied sciences are contained in the Polytechnics Act (932/2014). Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences may use discretionary admission.

Admission services sends invitations to Haaga-Helia's entrance examinations by email about a week before the exam date. 

Please notice, that Haaga-Helia will not be using the International UAS exam or SAT test result as a selection method in the first Spring 2026 joint application. Please note that all applicants will be selected to Bachelor degree programmes only through the Certificate-based selection (Finnish Matriculation Examination, International Baccalaureate (IB) degree, European Baccalaureate (EB) Diploma, Reifeprüfung (RP) or Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA) degree) and a certificate selection based on Finnish vocational upper secondary qualifications completed after 1.8.2015. Exceptions to this are degree programmes in Sports Coaching and Management, and International Business (blended learning), which use their own selection methods and entrance examinations.

NB: Competence-based qualifications are not taken into account in certificate-based selection. To be selected through the certificate-based selection method on matriculation examination and vocational upper secondary qualification, applicants must also prove their English language skills. Please check the language requirements.

As an alternative to Joint application, you can apply to Haaga-Helia through Rolling admission. There are several application forms on Studyinfo at the same time, so please make sure you fill in the right one. Read the admission criteria carefully before applying.

Participate in the entrance examination if it is part of the selection method in the degree programme you are applying to. Please always check admission criteria on Studyinfo.fi. 

Results of the student selection are available on My Studyinfo service and applicants also receive results by email. The date, by which the results will be published, is stated in the admission criteria on Studyinfo.fi.

Accept the offered study place and enroll for the academic year by the given deadline. Only those who have enrolled as present will be able to start their studies. Please note that you can only accept one study place from a degree program starting in the same semester. If you have not submitted all the necessary certificates during the application period, you must save them on the application at this stage at the latest. For example, those who have been accepted for Master's Degree Programmes must submit copies of work certificates of the work experience required for eligibility when accepting a study place.
