Rolling Admission for Bachelor's studies

The SAT test is an exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. It is a multiple-choice, digital or pencil-and-paper test administered by the College Board. The purpose of the SAT test is to measure the applicant's readiness for higher education and provide higher education institutions with one common data point that can be used to compare applicants.

Please note that if you apply with the SAT scores, you also need to have a higher/upper secondary degree (e.g. high school diploma) to be eligible to apply to Haaga-Helia through Rolling admission. Eligible applicants with an SAT score that exceeds the minimum requirement are invited to an  interview. 

If you are competing your higher secondary education during the application semester, attach your latest transcript of study records or other certificate provided by the learning institution that states the degree/qualification you are completing. 

1. Register for the SAT test through the College Board's website. You can check test dates, deadlines for registration and test centers nearest to you on the College Board's website.
2. Take the SAT test in required sections: Evidence-based reading and writing and Math. Order your official SAT score report from the test organiser to be delivered directly to Haaga-Helia. The code for Haaga-Helia UAS is 7098.
   • Only the new SAT test taken after March 2016 is acceptable.
   • Reports printed or sent by the applicant themself are not acceptable.

Required SAT score

You must attain at least the required points per section (Evidence-based reading and writing, Math) to be invited to the interview and get accepted.

• Required SAT score in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programmes:
  • 500 points in section Evidence-based reading and writing, and
  • 500 points in Math
• Required SAT score in Bachelor of Hospitality Management programmes:
  • 500 points in Evidence-based reading and writing, and
  • 400 points in Math

1. Choose the degree programme that you want to apply for and fill out the online application form during the application period on studyinfo.fi
2. Attach the required certificates (and translations into English, Finnish or Swedish) and passport, EU/EEA identity card or Finnish driving licence and other attachments to your application. Eligibility for Bachelor's degree programmes is higher/upper secondary education (e.g. high school diploma). If you are competing your higher secondary education during the application semester, attach your latest transcript of study records or other certificate provided by the learning institution that states the degree/qualification you are completing to your application form. Required documents of eligibility by country can be found on Haaga-Helia's website.

1. Haaga-Helia sends invitations to the online group interview one week before the interview date by email. Only eligible applicants with complete applications and an SAT score that exceeds the minimum requirement will be interviewed.
2. Participate in the interview. Please note that your identity will be checked during interview. You must present your passport, EU/EEA identity card or Finnish driving licence as the identification document. The online (group) interview lasts approximately 40 minutes.

The online interview will be assessed on a scale of pass/fail.

You will be notified of the selection result by email as soon as you have submitted the required certificates, your application has been processed and you have participated in the online interview.

The original documents (diploma, transcript and official translations) may be checked when the student arrives in Finland and starts their studies.

You can apply with your SAT score in Rolling Admission's SAT score-based selection. In addition to SAT score, you need to submit a higher secondary education certificate and attend an online interview.

If you are competing your higher secondary education during the application semester, attach your latest transcript of study records or other certificate provided by the learning institution that states the degree/qualification you are completing to your application form. 

You do not need a separate English language certificate.

You can check whether your higher secondary education certificate is one of the certificates required in Rolling Admission's Certificate-based selection. Please check the grade requirements per country/certificate behind the same link as well.

If your country or your certificate is not listed in the link above, and you have some other higher secondary education certificate, you can still apply in SAT score-based selection. Then you should take an SAT test organized by College Board and submit your SAT score to Haaga-Helia.

Eligible applicants will be invited to an online interview.

Yes, you can apply in SAT score-based selection even though your higher secondary education is not yet completed. 

Also in some cases in Rolling Admission's Certificate-based selection we take into account incomplete degrees as soon as the degree will be completed by the given deadline. Please read the requirements by country/degree carefully from the link above. 

If you are competing your higher secondary education during the application semester, attach your latest transcript of study records or other certificate provided by the learning institution that states the degree/qualification you are completing to your application form. 

If you have Finnish matriculation examination (ylioppilastutkinto) or Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification (ammatillinen perututkinto, ammattitutkinto) or general upper secondary education certificate (lukion päättötodistus) you can apply in Rolling Admission if you take an SAT test organized by College Board. There is no need for separate English language certificate.

Please notice that you are eligible to apply directly in Joint Application's Certificate-based selection with your Finnish matriculation examination and Finnish vocational upper secondary qualification. Please notice that Certificate-based selection in Joint application is different from Rolling Admission’s Certificate-based selection.

If you have International Baccalaureate diploma (IB) or European Baccalaureate diploma (EB) you can apply in Rolling Admission if you take an SAT test organized by College Board. There is no need for separate English language certificate.

Please notice that you are eligible to apply directly in Joint Application's Certificate-based selection with your IB or EB Diploma. Please notice that Certificate-based selection in Joint application is different from Rolling Admission’s Certificate-based selection.

If you have a bachelor's or master's degree you can apply in Rolling Admission if you take an SAT test organized by College Board. There is no need for separate English language certificate. 

Please notice, that we offer only bachelor's degree programmes in our Rolling Admission. If you wish to apply to our master's degree programmes, please apply in Joint Application. In addition to higher education degree, you need to have minimum of two years of work experience after completing your higher education degree to apply for a master's degree.
