Our RDI activities are based on the idea that we create solutions courageously in diverse networks with other higher education institutions, universities, businesses and other stakeholders in the community. For example, in the Ulysseus European University Alliance, we are developing innovation ecosystems and related research and development projects to create more sustainable future.
Welcome to the researcher's career path
Haaga-Helia has a three-step career path for researchers: researcher, senior researcher, and leading researcher. A target profile in several different dimensions is described for each researcher's role. The aim of the career path is to provide opportunities for those with a researcher profile to work in a more international applied research context.
We are committed to a pan-European CoARA development work, including researcher assessment. We aim to achieve the HR Excellence in Research (HRS4R) award.

Researchers' work experiences at Haaga-Helia
"Research work at the UAS is usually fast-paced and closely linked to practical solutions and applications. Haaga-Helia has extensive contacts with companies, which are involved in most of our research projects. In a week, I might work on 2-4 different projects and I'm constantly learning new things about different topics, which is inspiring. It is also possible to do basic academic research if you have the passion for it and can get involved in the right research projects."

"This is my sixth year as a researcher at Haaga-Helia. I have been involved in six RDI projects, of which four as project manager. I enjoy my work at Haaga-Helia very much. This is innovative, applied research, where the development orientation benefits the participants directly. Haaga-Helia's modern research environment has allowed me to focus on research and development. My personal passion is researching and developing group and team interactions together with the participants. Haaga-Helia's broad and diverse RDI activities have enabled me to delve into this theme from different perspectives in each new RDI project."
