Whistleblower protection allows you to safely report a breach you have discovered and protect yourself against possible retaliation.
However, to qualify for whistleblower protection, three general conditions must be met:
- at the time of notification, you must have reasonable grounds to believe that the information about the breach is correct,
- the information about the breach is covered by the Whistleblower Protection Act, and
- you are reporting a breach you have discovered in the course of your work.
You must, however, also report any violations of Haaga-Helia's activities to Haaga-Helia's internal whistleblowing channel in the first instance. In certain cases, you can also submit a notification to the Chancellor of Justice's centralised external whistleblowing channel or directly to the competent authority.
