You can apply to Haaga-Helia's Master's degree programmes with the
- the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or
- Graduate Records Examinations (GRE).
They are standardised tests that are used internationally for student admissions to Master’s degree programmes. The tests measure analytic and linguistic skills as well as quantitative reasoning skills.
GMAT, GMAT Focus Edition, and GRE exams are equivalent in the Master’s admissions, i.e. none of the tests is considered superior to the other. In questions concerning the test, contact the test organisers:
Selection process and scores
The lowest score that the applicant must reach in order to be qualified for selection process is 530 from the GMAT Exam test. Only the Total Score is considered in the admissions.
- The GMAT Exam (10th Edition) and GRE test results must be equivalent to the GMAT Exam (Focus Edition) score.
- The scores from GMAT Exam (10th Edition) are converted to GMAT Exam (Focus Edition) result by using the Concordance Table.
- We accept scores from exams delivered both online and test centers.
- The GRE test result is converted to GMAT Exam score by using the GRE Comparison Tool. When converting the GRE score, only the Verbal Reasoning Score and Quantitative Reasoning Score of the GRE test are taken into consideration.
- The official test result must be delivered directly from the test organiser to Haaga-Helia UAS by 17 September 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time at the latest. Please also take the print screen of your test results and attach it to your application form by 17 September 2026 at 15:00 Finnish time.
- Only an unofficial test report submitted by the applicant will not be accepted.
- Test times may fill up closer to the application time and it is the applicant's responsibility to book a test time well in advance. Confirm the time taken to deliver the official results from the test organiser.
- If the GMAT test result does not arrive by the deadline, or the scores are below the minimum requirement, the application will be rejected.
- GMAT Tests: Sending Your Scores
- GMAT and GRE test results are valid for five (5) years after the test day. For 2026 admissions, the oldest acceptable test day is 20 October 2021.
- You also need to fill in the joint application form at Studyinfo during the application period.
- Applicants are accepted in order of best points. There are a limited number of places available.
Entrance examination
The Master’s degree programmes mentioned above will use a joint entrance examination. The entrance examination consists of an online multiple-choice test based on pre-materials and a written part (two essays) based on the material provided in the exam. Both parts of the entrance exam are taken on the same day. The written part assesses the applicants’ analytical skills and capability to write a text that is coherent, correct, and appropriate for the given task.
Every applicant participating in the Haage-Helia's entrance exam must register for the entrance exam by submitting the advance assignment. In order to be invited to the Haaga-Helia's entrance exam an applicant must submit the advance assignment by 17 September 2026 at 15.00 Finnish time at the latest. The advance assignment will not be scored separately but if the assignment does not follow the instructions given, it will be failed.
The invitations to the entrance examination will be sent via email by 13 October 2026. (Please also check your spam folder. In some cases, entrance examination invitations are automatically redirected to junk mail). All eligible applicants and all applicants whose eligibility may not have been checked will be invited to the entrance exam.
The entrance examination will be held on 20 October 2026, from 17.30 to 19.30 at Pasila campus. The address is Ratapihantie 13, 00520 Helsinki, Finland. NB! You must register for the entrance exam between 16.30–17.30 in the exam class. Applicants arriving late cannot participate in the entrance examination. It is not possible to participate in the exam remotely. Haaga-Helia is not responsible for visa-related matters.
The schedule of the exam:
- From 16.30 to 17.30 – Registration in the exam class at Pasila campus. Be prepared to queue outside the exam class.
- At 17.30 – The classroom doors will be closed. Make sure that you enter the classroom before that. After 17.30 o’clock it is not possible to enter the classroom.
- From 17.30 to 19.30 o’clock – Entrance exam
- You may leave the entrance exam at 18.00 o’clock at the earliest.
The exam will be supervised in the classrooms. There will be two supervisors in the room. The supervisors will record the detected cases of suspected fraud and they may lead to the rejection of the entrance exam.
The exam answers must be submitted via the Webropol platform by 19.30 at the latest. Late submissions will not be accepted. Save your answers in a word processing program in case of technical problems with Webropol. NB! Allowed text editors are Notepad and Notepad++ on Windows, Gedit or another similar simple text editor on Linux, and TextEdit on MacOS. The use of AI-assisted text editors during the exam is prohibited and may result in failure of the exam.
On the exam day at Pasila campus
The applicant must bring the following things to the exam room:
- a valid ID
- a laptop and its power cord
The applicant may also bring the following things to the exam room:
- a wired mouse and keyboard
- a pen
- small snacks & drink
Everything else, including a closed cell phone, must be put in a bag and left next to the wall in the classroom. The use of protective film for the computer screen is not allowed. Devices using wireless network connections, such as a mouse using Bluetooth connection, keyboards, headphones, smart watches, or activity bracelets must be put in the bag. The applicants can leave their bags and coats next to the walls of the exam room. In the room, there will be paper available for everyone to take their own notes.
Entrance exam points
The multiple-choice test in the entrance exam is checked first and the applicants will be ranked based on the points obtained from the multiple-choice test. If based on the total points of the multiple-choice test section, several candidates have equal points, they will be eliminated based on three different parts (A, B, C) in the test and the points obtained from them. In the case of equal points, part A is decisive. If there are still equal points, Part B will be decisive. If there are still equal points, Part C will be decisive.
Online multiple-choice test based on the pre-material (min. 3 points / max. 70 points):
- Part A: min. 1 p, max. 30 p
- Part B: min. 1 p, max. 20 p
- Part C: min. 1 p, max. 20 p
Single answer score in the multiple-choice test:
- Correct answer = 2 points
- Wrong answer = -1 point
Based on the results of the multiple-choice test, at least twice the number of applicants’ essays in relation to the study places will be evaluated.

- Service Business Management – 24 applicant’s essays

To pass the entrance exam, the applicant must obtain the minimum points for each section. Failing any part of the exam automatically means failing the whole entrance exam.
Hardware and network requirements
The entrance exam is a digital exam, completed on a platform called Webropol on the applicant’s own computer. The exam is designed to be taken on a computer. You cannot complete the entrance exam by your phone or tablet. Errorless completion of the entrance exam by phone or tablet cannot be guaranteed. The laptop must support modern WiFi/WLAN standards, and you must be able to connect to the wireless exam network provided by Haaga-Helia with your laptop.

Recommended operating systems are Windows 11 23h2, macOS 13 ja Ubuntu Linux 20.04 or later. We do not recommend using Chromebook with Google Chrome OS. Webropol supports the following up-to-date browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari. Other modern browsers may also work. Do not use Internet Explorer. Please make sure that you have JavaScript and cookies enabled. Note that JavaScript and cookies are enabled automatically in modern browsers. It is recommended to have at least two different browsers installed on your computer in case of technical problems with one of them.
The applicant is responsible for the functionality of the laptop, including its power supply. The University of Applied Sciences cannot be held responsible for any problems caused by the applicant's laptop, hardware or software when taking the entrance examination. The laptop’s battery must be fully charged before coming to the written exam. You must take the power supply of the laptop with you so that it is possible to charge the laptop if necessary. We recommend that you use a mouse to navigate in the exam system instead of the keyboard.
Identification
The applicant must show a valid ID when attending the exam at Pasila campus. The following documents are accepted as proof of identity:
- passport
- Finnish identity card with a photo, issued by police
Finnish driver’s license
- another EU/ETA country identity card with a photo
Other types of IDs are not accepted. An expired passport or a Finnish ID card is acceptable, if it has expired max. one year ago. We must be able to identify you from the picture on your ID. Without a valid ID you cannot attend the entrance exam.
Individual Arrangements in the Entrance Examination
If you need individual arrangements for Haaga-Helia's entrance exam, please fill in and submit the relevant application to Haaga-Helia by 17 September 2026, 15.00 Finnish time.
Co-operation with other universities of applied sciences
Kindly note that Haaga-Helia's Master’s degree programmes accept only entrance examination results gained in its own examination. Scores received in the entrance examinations of other degree programmes in Finland or abroad are not transferrable / accepted to this programme. Also, note that Haaga-Helia UAS does not arrange the Masters degree programme’s entrance examination abroad.
