Individual Arrangements in the Entrance Examination

Lead paragraph

The applicant can request individual arrangements for the entrance examinations with a separate form. The applicant should describe what type of arrangements he/she is requesting and why he/she requires these arrangements in the entrance examinations. Copies of documents supporting the request should be enclosed with the request.

Individual arrangements are degree programme specific and valid only on the specified date of the entrance examination. The applicant will be notified of the individual arrangements available in good time before the entrance examination. Documents supporting the request for individual arrangements are confidential and approved methods of administration are applied when processing these documents.

If the need for individual arrangements exists already during the application period, the request for individual arrangements in the entrance examinations must be submitted to Haaga-Helia Admission Services:

  • Joint application period from 5 to 19 January 2022 applications by 26 January 3 PM Finnish time

NB. The applicant must submit the request with the supporting documents to all Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities to which he/she has applied and in which he/she will take part in an entrance examination.

If the need for individual arrangements arises after the last day of the application period, but before the entrance examination, the applicant should submit the request for individual arrangements with the supporting documents without delay to the Admission Services of all the Universities of Applied Sciences and Universities to which he/she has applied and in which he/she will take part in an entrance examination. The University of Applied Sciences or University can deny the applicant the requested individual arrangements if the requested arrangements are not possible to arrange due to e.g. time constraint.

Haaga-Helia UAS will notify the applicant of the available individual arrangements by e-mail. If the individual arrangements the applicant has requested cannot be arranged, Haaga-Helia UAS will notify the applicant by e-mail explaining why some or all of the requested individual arrangements cannot be arranged.

Fill out the application and send it with the required attachments by 26 January 2022 3 PM Finnish time. If you receive an invitation to the second phase of the International UAS Exam, please send the decision on granted individual arrangements to the Admissions Services of the university of applied sciences that sent the invitation by the deadline stated in the invitation.

Please note that you must apply for individual arrangements from the school which is highest on your priority which uses the UASexam.

If a condition which requires individual arrangements occurs after the deadline, you must fill out an application for individual arrangements and contact the Haaga-Helia Admission services immediately.

Please attach copies of attestations that support your request (e.g. medical certificate or equivalent statement on the nature of your disease or disability, or certificate on dyslexia or learning difficulty). Those who request support measures, such as additional time, on the grounds of dyslexia have to attach a statement of a trained special needs teacher, an expert psychologist, speech therapist or specialist medical doctor (e.g. child neurologist, neurologist or phoniatrician). The statement shall indicate that you need support measures for taking the exam due to dyslexia. The UAS may accept an equivalent decision made by The Finnish Matriculation Examination Board if it contains the granted support measures.

The validity of statements is assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the persistence of disability, disease or learning difficulty. For dyslexia, only statements that have been obtained at the age of 16 or later are considered. Do not send original certificates but be prepared to present the originals at the start of your studies should you become accepted to the study programme. Information related to your health shall be kept secret (Section 24, Act on the Openness of Government Activities).

If your documents are not in Finnish, English, or Swedish, you must also send official translations as well as the original documents.

Instructions for requesting individual arrangements for other entrance examinations outside the UASexam
