Transfer application

Haaga-Helia will be able to consider a transfer if there is a vacant study place in the right semester in the degree programme. It depends on the content, amount, and quality of the completed studies if the courses are suitable for a certain vacant study place on a certain semester.

You must have

• made systematic progress in your studies and are progressing according to the statutory study-time. Only second or later semester students are eligible for transfer application (the applicant must have enough credits to prove that they have made systematic progress in their studies).
• completed enough courses in order to be able to complete the new degree programme in standard study time. Please note that the degree programme will also evaluate the quality and suitability of your studies, not only the amount of credits.

Transfer students' study right is determined by the degree to which they have transferred. The semesters during which you have been enrolled as attending or non-attending during your previous study right will be included when determining the remaining study time of the degree to which you have been transferred.

The admission requirements will be published on Studyinfo.fi about a month before the application period begins.

Attach the required documents online to your application in Studyinfo. If you cannot submit the documents online, please deliver them directly to Haaga-Helia Admission Services by email.

• Officially signed certificate of enrollment containing attendance record.
• Officially signed transcript of records
• Reasons for applying for transfer
• If necessary, a document verifying exemption from tuition fee payment.

N.B. screenshots or links to your study records in Studyinfo are not accepted as official certificates. Electronically signed documents are ok.

The selection process may include an interview.

The tuition fee does not concern you, if you have started your current studies (your study right has begun) before August 2017 in a degree programme provided without charge (Act 932/2014).
A tuition fee may concern you if you are not an EU citizen (European Union) or a citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

You are exempted from paying the tuition fee if you can present one of the following documents:

• Passport or identity card to indicate the citizenship of EU/EEA/Switzerland
• EU Blue Card (granted in Finland)
• Continuous residence permit, type A (granted in Finland)
• Permanent residence permit, type P (granted in Finland)
• EU Family Member's Residence Card (granted in Finland)
• EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long-term residence status, type P-EU (granted in Finland).

The amount of the tuition fee at Haaga-Helia UAS is

• EUR 11,000.00 per academic year for Bachelor's degree programmes in English and
• EUR 12,000.00 per academic year for Master's degree programmes in English.

Please note that  transfer student needs to pay the tuition fee for first two semesters at once. The whole payment must be made within 14 days of receiving the acceptance message. Transfer student is not eligible for Early Bird -discount. 

You can only apply for transfer from a Finnish university of applied sciences or university. The programme that you apply for has to be similar to the one that you are studying in.

If you are studying in a university outside Finland, you can apply to Haaga-Helia through the joint application or Rolling admission. If you get accepted, you can discuss with your guidance counselor about transferring your credits from abroad to your degree at Haaga-Helia.

Yes, electronically signed documents are ok. The required documents need to be either electronically signed or signed by hand and stamped.

Please note that screenshots or links to your study records in Studyinfo are not accepted.

If the title of your degree (e.g. Bachelor of Business Administration --> Bachelor of Sport studies) would change in the transfer, you need to apply through Studyinfo.

In case the title would not change, you need to apply for transfer within Haaga-Helia with a form available on this site.

Please note that this only concerns students who are already studying in Haaga-Helia. Applicants from other universities in Finland can only apply transfer to corresponding degree programmes (e.g. Business --> Business) through Studyinfo.
