Lead paragraph

Through the Open Path flexible separate application you can apply for most of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes conducted in English and in Finnish.

The Open Path flexible separate application is meant for applicants who have completed all the studies required for the completion of a degree but who have not graduated. A sum of at least 210 ECTS (Bachelor) / 90 ECTS (Master) completed in discontinued degree studies in Haaga-Helia and after that in Haaga-Helia Open University of Applied Sciences (the studies can also be completed in CampusOnline or 3AMK collaboration) is required for eligibility.

The studies (including the thesis) must be registered in the student information system before the applicant submits the application, i.e. by the last day of the application period. The studies must be registered so that they show on the official transcript of records. Please note that it is not enough to hand in assignments or thesis by the last day of the application period, all studies must be evaluated and registered in the student information system by the last day of the application period. The studies missing from the degree must be completed at Haaga-Helia Open University of Applied Sciences. The credits required for eligibility may be no more than ten years old.

Please note that a completed degree does not grant eligibility to apply.

Please note: Before filling in the application, the applicant must contact the guidance counsellor of the degree programme in question and make sure that all studies required for the degree (including the thesis) have been completed and registered.

An applicant applying in the Open Path flexible separate application process may not have any study right in a University of Applied Sciences in Finland in studies leading to a degree.

The one place per student provision applies. The applicant may confirm only one study place in higher education leading to a degree during one academic term.

Cheating during studies in the Open University of Applied Sciences can lead to rejection of the applicant’s application for degree studies.

Please note that there are tuition fees which concern citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

Please note: After the application has been approved and you have accepted the study place, a new attending degree student role will be created for you for completing the bachelor's or a master's degree. You are also liable to pay a UAS student's health care fee (FSHS, Finnish abbreviation YTHS) for the ongoing semester.

The new study right is valid for two months from accepting the study place. The student must graduate within the given study right. Study Services transfers the credits to the new degree student role, after which they notify the student that it is ok to apply for graduation. The student graduates within 2–3 weeks from applying for graduation.
