The International Business programme offers a great base for those wanting to build a career in global business. Students will acquire both generic and specialized skills needed in expert and managerial positions as well as entrepreneurs. Studies include close co-operation with businesses. The programme is offered both as daytime and blended studies.
The International Business Degree, 210 ECTS, consists of:
- Key competences in business (45 ECTS)
- Key competences in international business (30 ECTS)
- Languages (20 ECTS)
- Major courses in international business (30 ECTS)
- Complementary professional competence courses (40 ECTS)
- Work placement (30 ECTS)
- Thesis in the field of the Major (15 ECTS)
You will complete a minimum of 30 ECTS in your chosen Major and up to 40 ECTS of complementary professional competence courses of your choice. You can tailor your personal study path flexibly as the complementary professional competence courses complementing the Major can be chosen from different competence areas and other Haaga-Helia degrees. Options include, for example, studies from business information technology, hospitality management, and aviation business. You can study the Major also during an exchange semester or within a double degree abroad.
The degree is offered either as daytime or blended studies. The daytime studies are taught mainly on campus in the daytime. The blended studies are implemented both on campus (2-3 evenings weekly) and online, and are intended for students with prior work experience. During the blended studies you can deepen your existing competences and update your theoretical knowledge. The whole degree cannot be completed online.
