Cross-study service (RIPA)

Haaga-Helia students

Always get approval for RIPA-studies from your academic advisor before enrolling. If you are a Haaga-Helia student, check the instructions for cross-study enrollments in Peppi. 
 

Students from other universities

You enrol for Haaga-Helia implementations primarily in your home university’s study information system (Peppi/Pakki) via the cross-study service. When browsing through the cross-study offerings, you will only see the courses you are eligible to enrol for. Please note that you can only register for courses at the level of your degree. 

The enrollment period for implementations is course specific. You can check the enrollment period for the desired course in Peppi/Pakki. You will also find the course description, teaching methods, and any prerequisite requirements in the course information. 

Discuss the suitability of the cross-study studies for your degree with your academic advisor before enrolling. Not all courses are automatically included in your degree. 

When enrolling for Haaga-Helia´s studies via the cross-study service, note that you must enrol for each implementation separately in your home university’s Peppi/Pakki. Adding the course to your personal study plan (PSP) is not enough; you must also enrol on the Enrolments -tab. 

3AMK 

You enrol for 3AMK studies via the cross-study service in the home university’s study information system (Peppi/Pakki), except for open UAS pathway students, who register either via the cross-study service or through a separate registration form. Degree students, pathway students, and exchange students of 3AMK can enrol for the network’s studies. The studies are free of charge. 

CampusOnline 

You enrol for Haaga-Helia´s  CampusOnline studies in your home university’s study information system (Peppi/Pakki). The studies are free of charge. 

Please familiarise yourself with the instructions well in advance before your studies begin. You wil get instructions also via email. Please save those instructions for later.

Identification

The identification request and your username will be sent to you by email before the start of your studies. Please check your junk mail if you have not received the identification request. Follow the link you got by email to log in to the Haaga-Helia identification service. Log in with your username. We advise you to make it as soon as you receive the email.

Username and password

After you have successfully completed the identification, you will be directed to accept Haaga-Helia’s Access and Study Material Agreement. Once you have read through the agreement and accepted it, your username will be activated. After this you can set a strong password for yourself. Check the password requirements. You can also see your Haaga-Helia email address in the identification service.  

Please keep your username and password saved, as you will need them to log in to all Haaga-Helia’s IT systems and email. Your username will consist of three letters and three numbers (e.g. abc123).  

You will need the username to sign in to computers on campus, email, online learning environment Moodle and Peppi.

The way you sign in changes slightly depending on the system. Your user ID to Moodle and Outlook email is [email protected], whereas Peppi will only require your username (e.g. abc123) as user ID. Services that require Microsoft identification will use multi-factor authentication (MFA). In the multi-factor authentication, your user ID is always [email protected]. Password always remains the same.

Signing in to Haaga-Helia email 

All messages relating to your studies will be sent to your Haaga-Helia email address. For example, teacher send messages and notifications relating to their courses by email. Hence, we suggest you check your email daily. 

You can log in to your email account at https://outlook.office365.com/mail/. Use [email protected] as your user ID. Please note that Outlook uses multi-factor authenitication. 

Each course has their own online learning environment in Moodle. Log in to Moodle preferably before your course begins and the learning environment opens.

The log in uses Microsoft authentication and MFA, so use [email protected] as your use ID. 

Cross-studies follow the guidelines and regulations of the university organizing the course. The studies must be completed as specified in the course description. The description provides information on the course content, teaching methods, and assessments.

Grading Scale

Grades are assigned as follows:

• Excellent (5)
• Very Good (4)
• Good (3)
• Satisfactory (2)
• Sufficient (1)
• Fail (0)

Alternatively, grading may be based on a pass/fail system (H/0).

The credits you complete in Haaga-Helia will automatically transfer to you home university’s study register if you have enrolled via Peppi/Pakki. However, please note that course work assessments will not be transferred, only the final course grade and its credits. 

If you have registered for studies using a separate form, you will have to apply for credit transfer according to the guidelines of your home university.

If you wish to cancel your enrollment for cross-study course, you can cancel your enrollment through your home university’s personal study plan (PSP) before the enrollment period ends.
