Service break in Peppi 17–25 June 2026

A transformer maintenance in Pasila starting from 16 June will cause a service break in Peppi. Due to a Peppi version update, the service break will continue until approximately June 25. We will inform separately once the service is available again.

The service break will affect the use of Lukkarikone, Study guide, Tuudo and Wihi, and registration to open UAS courses. Read more about service break.

Post-enrolment

The post-enrolment begins on 1 June 2026 at 9.00 and ends at 16.00 on the Friday of the week before the implementation begins.

Please note that for those applying for a degree certificate after June 8, the degree certificate will be delivered possibly at the end of August at the earliest.

Attendance policy will be loosened in August

If you are a master student, absences will not lower your grade nor affect the passing of the course. The changes will enter into force on 1 August 2026.

Save the Date: The 50 000 Together alumni event will be held on 22 September 2026 starting at 4 PM.

Registration for the event will open in August.

Mastering Intercultural Communication (5 cr) COM706AS3YE

Do you want to better understand what people really mean across cultures – and respond effectively – in today’s more diverse yet increasingly isolationist world? You’ll build intercultural insight and practical skills for context, identity, power, clarification, repair, and inclusion.

This course builds advanced intercultural understanding through a balanced mix of theory and practice. Students explore culture as a dynamic system of meaning, identity negotiation and belonging, and the pragmatics of interaction (directness, silence, politeness, and digital norms). The course examines values, emotion and facework, and how power and institutions shape “hidden rules” of communication.

Enroll for this course in Peppi. More information can be found in the Study Guide.

Master thesis method guidance

Students get guidance for their thesis work in the thesis method workshops and they are intended for all Master's students. Participating in the workshops is voluntary and does not accumulate study points.

Method workshops are organised online. For method theme evenings, one must enrol no later than the previous Monday, in order to receive a link to the Haaga-Helia email address before the session starts.

The enrolment for method theme evenings will begin in August 2026 and the registration link will be published on the Thesis, Master’s Degree webpage.

Method theme evening will be organised in Finnish in autumn semester.
