Creating a safer space together – what if someone behaves inappropriately?
Does everyone at Haaga-Helia feel as safe and comfortable as possible, regardless of their background and characteristics? We are committed to a non-discriminatory higher education institution and inappropriate treatment is and should be addressed.

Body
The Safer space is Haaga-Helia's own safe space policy, commitment and reporting channel. On the Safer space website you will find our policy and procedures.
You can report low-threshold inappropriate treatment using the Safer space reporting form. The report will be forwarded to Haaga-Helia's harassment contact person and to the mediator in charge of the Safer space.
Haaga-Helia and the student union Helga work together to combat discrimination. You can also contact Helga's harassment contact person.
In difficult or challenging situations, support is also available from:
- Haaga-Helia's Student Wellbeing Services
- Nyyti ry, organisation promoting students’ mental health
- FSHS, Finnish student health care.
The principles of safer space at Haaga-Helia are based on three pillars: safe to be, safe to participate and safe to learn. We will share content on this topic on Haaga-Helia's social media and on campus info screens in the following weeks.
