Study time:
The studies at the School of Professional Teacher Education are organised in such a way that the students can complete the studies within a period of time that corresponds to the scope (60 ECTS) of the studies. Studies completed on a part-time basis must be completed in three years (Universities of Applied Sciences Act 932/2014, § 30).

Applying for extension:
According to the Haaga-Helia Degree Regulations, the School of Professional Teacher Education may, on special grounds, grant an extension to the study time. The decisions are made by the Competence Area Director of teacher education.
The application for an extension to the study time has to be done before the study right expires. In the application, you shall clarify the specific reasons for study delay, and detail the studies to be completed and the timetable for completing the studies planned with your tutor.
Students whose study right ends during the spring semester may apply for extension in the spring. The application will open in the beginning of March and and the application must be submitted by the beginning of May (please check the exact deadline on the webpage below). In the autumn the application will be open in the beginning of October and the application must be submitted by the beginning of November (please check the exact deadline on the webpage below).
