Verify your identity online

All new students will receive an authentication request and a username by email before the start of their studies. You will also receive instructions by email on how to authenticate and activate your account.

You will receive an authentication request by email no earlier than 14 days before the start of your right to study. The right to study begins on 1 August for the autumn semester and on 1 January for the spring semester. Students in the Open UAS completing a degree and other special groups will receive the authentication request no later than the next day after enrollment.

Accept Haaga-Helia’s Access and Study Material Agreement and set a password

After authentication, you will be automatically directed to accept Haaga-Helia’s user agreement. After that, you will set your password.

Your username will then be activated, and you will be able to log in to Haaga-Helia’s systems approximately within 24 hours.

Please note: If you are continuing your studies and already have a valid study right, you will not receive a new authentication request. In that case, you will continue using the same username and password.

To complete your studies, log in to Haaga-Helia’s Moodle learning platform no later than the start of your studies.

Each course has its own page in Moodle. Courses will appear under the My Courses tab on the course start date. We do not send separate notifications about the start of a course.

In Moodle, you will find all the information needed to complete the course, as well as the teacher’s contact details. Please contact the teacher regarding any questions about completing the course or its content.

Please note: Carefully review the course instructions and assignments in Moodle as soon as the course begins. For flexible-start virtual implementations, log in to Moodle as soon as you have your Haaga-Helia credentials. If the course has assignment deadlines during the first week, submit your work by the due date. Also inform the teacher in advance if you will be absent from the first session. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the teacher canceling your enrollment in the course. In such cases, you are not entitled to a refund of the course fee.

Haaga-Helia email account

It is important that you activate your Haaga-Helia Outlook email for the duration of your studies. All instructions and announcements related to your studies, such as possible schedule changes, will be sent to your address: [email protected].

Please note: We strongly recommend that you set up email forwarding from your Haaga-Helia email to an account you check regularly (e.g., Gmail). Please follow the instructions and enable forwarding when you log in to Haaga-Helia email for the first time.

How to log in to Haaga-Helia email:

• In the User Name field, enter: your [email protected]
• In the Password field, enter: your password

Peppi - student's virtual desktop

In Peppi, you can view your study enrollments and the grades you have received and print out your transcript of records or study certificate.

How to log in to Peppi:

• In the User Name field, enter: your username
• In the Password field, enter: your password

Timetables

Check and mark in your calendar when your studies begin. If your course includes scheduled teaching sessions, also check the times and locations. You can find course details in the Continuous Learning search. 

When your studies start, all information and links to online sessions will be available in Moodle.

Attendancy Policy (1.8.2026 onwards)

All courses have start and end dates during which the studies must be completed.

In bachelor´s level courses you need to attend at least half of the teaching sessions marked in your timetable. Absence of more than 50% will result in failing the course. Also inform the teacher in advance if you will be absent from the first session and you will not be removed from the course.You can find more information about attendance rules here.

Virtual courses do not have scheduled sessions, so attendance rules do not apply to them. If the course has assignment deadlines during the first week, submit your work by the due date in order to confirm your study place.

Introduction to Digital Learning Environments, 1 ECTS

In this course, you will learn about Haaga-Helia's electronic systems, which will help you to cope with future courses. At the same time, you will practice online learning and independent work. This is a virtual, self-study course with teacher support.
