From the updated system, we can expect faster printing times, easier material management, and a simpler user interface. During the implementation, the current devices will be disposed of and replaced with new printers and multifunction devices.

It is advisable to prepare for the device replacement by recognizing that this work will cause interruptions in printing.

Devices and locations

With the new system, Haaga-Helia’s total number of devices will be reduced from the current amount. The number of new devices is based on long-term usage rates, and the locations of the future devices have been determined together to serve users as comprehensively as possible. By reducing the number of devices, Haaga-Helia aims to reduce its carbon footprint.

There will be fewer devices in classrooms, but a device should be reasonably accessible from nearby classroom areas.

Schedule and properties

The new devices will be installed between September 16th and 25th. This will cause interruptions in the printing service, but efforts will be made to minimize disruptions and other inconveniences for users by not shutting down the entire environment at once; instead, the interruptions will be device-specific.

The installation schedule is as follows:

  • Pasila: September 16th–18th
  • Haaga: September 19th
  • Malmi: September 23rd
  • Porvoo: September 24th
  • Vierumäki: September 25th

Login with your Haaga-Helia ID

With the new service, new print queues will be installed on Haaga-Helia workstations for the new service.

In the future, you can also use secure printing and retrieve print jobs by logging into the device with your Haaga-Helia username and password. After logging in, you can “release” the print jobs from the device, which will then print them on paper.

Do not log in to the device with any other method than the Haaga-Helia username and password.

Multifunction devices will also have the ability to scan to HH email.

Printing quota remains the same

Each student will continue to have a semester quota of 400 pages for printing. Color pages consume more of the quota, and if you wish, you can check your balance from the Ricoh print balance icon on the Haaga-Helia workstation desktop. The balance is shown in euros, but through the price list, you can easily calculate how many pages the euro balance corresponds to.
