Frequently asked questions — applying to Haaga-Helia in a joint application

If the application period is ongoing, the application form is available on Studyinfo.fi. Search for the degree programme and you will find the application form as well.

Please note that there may be many application forms open on Studyinfo at the same time, even to the same degree programme depending on the educational background, so please make sure you fill in the right one.

Starting from 1 January 2025, applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. Read more about the application fee on Studyinfo.

In joint application to higher education in Finland, you fill in one application form and can apply with the same application for six different degree programmes in either one or several higher education institutions.

NB. It is possible that some degree programmes are not part of the joint application system. In order to apply for those, you have to fill in another (separate) application form e.g. Rolling admission. You may apply in the joint application and in separate application processes at the same time. For Rolling admission, you can only apply for one degree programme at the time. Please always remember to check the eligibility requirements for each application process on Studyinfo.

If you are planning on applying for Bachelor´s degree programmes, you need to have a higher secondary certificate (e.g. high school diploma) or higher (e.g. Bachelor´s degree). More information about required documents by country.

When applying for Master´s degree programmes in Haaga-Helia, you need to have a Bachelor´s degree or higher and at least two years (24 months) of work experience after completing the Bachelor´s degree. Relevant degree and work experience depend on the desired degree programme. Either the Bachelor’s (or higher) degree or the work experience must be from the field of degree programme.

That is OK and recognition by the Finnish National Agency for Education is usually not needed.

If you have completed a Finnish matriculation examination, IB (International Baccalaureate), EB (European Baccalaureate) or DIA Diploma (RP Diploma, German Reifeprüfung) you can get admission just based on your high school diploma if the degree programme uses this selection method. Please check the admission criteria for each application round and degree programme on Studyinfo. Please, read more about language requirements (certificate-based selection).

If you have completed some other type of high school diploma, you can apply through a separate application i.e. Rolling Admission.

All applicants applying for the European Joint Master's degree programme in AI for Business Transformation: the entrance examination will test applicants' English language skills. A separate test for English language skills will not be arranged. 

NOTE! Haaga-Helia will not be using in the Joint application the International UAS exam or SAT test result as a selection method in the spring 2026 and the autumn 2026. Please, read more about language requirements (certificate-based selection).

If the degree programme uses work experience as a scoring method (see Admission criteria), you can get admission points from relevant work experience. You must prove your work experience with a work certificate (reference) that indicates the time when you have been working and the content of your duties.

An application with all required documents is valid only for the application period in question. Therefore all required certificates must be submitted each time you apply.

Please upload the documents to your online application, it is the safest way to submit the documents to us.

EU/EEA area and Swiss citizens do not have to pay the tuition fee. Other citizens might have to pay a fee if they do not have a certain type of residence permit in Finland.

The tuition fees in Haaga-Helia are:

• EUR 11,000.00 per academic year for Bachelor's programmes, and
• EUR 12,000.00 per academic year for Master's degree programmes

Please notice, that Haaga-Helia will not be using the International UAS exam or SAT test result as a selection method in the spring 2026 and the autumn 2026 joint applications. As an alternative to Joint application, you can apply to Haaga-Helia through Rolling admission. 

Applicants for both Finnish and English-language Master's degree programmes take part in entrance exams organised by Haaga-Helia UAS. Advance materials and assignments are published on Haaga-Helia's website. Information about the entrance exams is also available on the Studyinfo's website. Alternative way to apply for the Master`s degree programmes conducted in English is with GMAT or GRE test.

With a study voucher, you can explore courses at Haaga-Helia Open UAS free of charge starting in autumn 2026 – giving you the keys to competence excellence!

The study voucher is for young people who have completed a secondary-level qualification after 1 December 2025 and who did not receive a study place in the higher education admissions process. With the study voucher you have an opportunity to complete up to 30 ECTS credits free of charge at an open university. You can check your eligibility for the study voucher and activate it in the Opin.fi service in August 2026.

All studies you complete at Haaga-Helia Open UAS with the study voucher can be included in your degree later, once you are enrolled as a degree student with us. So take advantage of your gap year, confirm your field of study, or develop your study skills!
