Visiting Scholar programmes

The applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent and pedagogical experience. In addition, five to ten years of relevant work experience is required as well as experience of RDI activities and publications. The applicant must have a very good command of English (both written and spoken).

The scholar must have a position in an educational or research institute (or equivalent) outside Finland. Exceptions can be made only for justifiable reasons.

Presence on one of the Haaga-Helia campuses is required, the Visiting Scholar period cannot be conducted remotely.

Haaga-Helia provides the scholar with housing. Other benefits are agreed upon case by case depending on the nature of the tasks during the Visiting Scholar period.

Haaga-Helia’s English-taught International Business programme at the Pasila campus welcomes visiting professors and lecturers to teach the courses.

As the biggest business educator in Finland, we have a wide course offering in business taught in English. The courses offered are from the following competence areas:

• Accounting and Finance
• International Business Communication
• People Management
• Marketing and Sales
• Key Competence (basic level) courses

Requirements for the visits:

• The visitor must hold a PhD. 
• The visitor must teach at least 50 % of the course at Haaga-Helia. Teaching can be contact, online, or virtual.
• The visitor must be employed by a higher education institution abroad. This makes him/her a Visiting Professor.
