Katri Salmi has 20 years of experience within international affairs in higher education. Salmi works as the Head of International Relations at Haaga-Helia.
In addition, Katri Salmi teaches Intercultural Training and Developing Intercultural Competence courses for students in Finland and in Vietnam. She plans trainings and trains global competences for staff members in 3UAS (Haaga-Helia, Laurea and Metropolia). She has project experience in international projects in arranging international events and developing intercultural learning materials (EU project Connect Intercultural Learning Network). She is the project manager of MOB4ALL: Mobility for all: Innovative measures to enhance International mobility for special-needs students project. She is active in national networks for the internationalization of higher education.
Katri Salmi is a qualified teacher. Her educational and working background is in the field of tourism. Her degree is master of hospitality management. In the field of tourism, she has worked or studied in nine different countries: Bulgaria, Denmark, Great Britain, Italy, Macao (China), Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.
