Aims and objectives
The aim of the programme is to educate and prepare trainers to train teachers who will work in universities of technology and other institutions. Additionally, the programme seeks to develop curricula specifically designed for teacher education, ensuring that trainers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to create effective educational programs.
Participant profile
Target Group: trainers training teachers for vocational/technical university education.
Group Size: 10-25 participants.
Requirements: completed basic and further education, relevant work/business experience.
Structure of the programme
Module 1: Development Plan and Learning Theories
- Credits: 10 ECTS
- Workload: One-week contact period and distance learning
- Content: Curriculum familiarization, competence analysis, personal and team development plans, modern learning theories, guidance and counseling practices, role of education in society.
Module 2: Learning Environments and Processes
- Credits: 10 ECTS
- Workload: One-week contact period and distance learning
- Content: Education system in the target country, classroom and workshop methods, e-learning, work-based learning, competence assessment, quality in teaching.
Module 3: Developing Teaching
- Credits: 10 ECTS
- Workload: One-week contact period, distance and peer learning, teaching practice
- Content: Teaching observation, teaching practice, consultative work habits, consultation processes, networking with working life, preliminary ideas for teacher education program.
Module 4: Teacher Education Systems
- Credits: 10 ECTS
- Workload: One-week contact period and consultative methods
- Content: Curriculum theories, teacher competences in the target country, model for teacher education, curriculum as a text.
Results
The programme aims to produce qualified trainers and teachers for the target institution. It will establish effective processes for teacher education and develop a comprehensive curriculum tailored for teacher education.
Workshop for institution directors
The program includes an optional half-day workshop for institution directors (in English). The workshop covers the four modules described above in a nutshell.
