LeadHER: Teaching Framework for boosting ICT literacy and jobs for girls in basic and secondary education

The LeadHER project empowers girls in primary and secondary education to develop digital skills and discover career opportunities in the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) sector. The goal is to close the gender gap in ICT learning and careers by creating supportive, inclusive learning environments.

The project will run during two school years in Bulgaria, Portugal, and Spain.

Why does it matter?

Despite growing job opportunities in technology, many girls don’t pursue ICT studies or careers. LeadHER aims to change that by removing barriers, challenging stereotypes, and sparking girls’ interest through engaging learning and strong role models.

Key activities

  • A practical Teachers’ Toolbox with ready-to-use methods and resources for building inclusive, girl-friendly classrooms.
  • Mentoring with female role models in ICT to inspire and support girls’ learning and aspirations.
  • Family and community engagement to strengthen the support network around girls and encourage their interest in ICT.

Collaboration across Europe

The project is led by a consortium of eight European partners, bringing together expertise in education, gender equality, and digital innovation.
