Influential networks – Together for sustainable European RDI cooperation

'Influential Networks – Together for Sustainable European RDI Cooperation' is a development project carried out by a consortium of three Universities of Applied Sciences (3AMK): Laurea (coordinator), Haaga-Helia and Metropolia. The project is co-funded by EU's ERDF programme.

The project promotes cooperation between companies and higher education institutions in Uusimaa Region. Through enhanced cooperation within the RDI ecosystem in selected industries the project initiates innovations that attract European RDI funding. The project maps RDI funding sources for public-private project ideas in sustainability and supports companies' readiness for project collaboration. The selected industries in the project are food value chains (Laurea), food tourism (Haaga-Helia), and construction (Metropolia).

Haaga-Helia's work plan utilizes the national food tourism ecosystem 'Hungry for Finland' with a special focus on companies, business networks and collaboration platforms in Uusimaa Region. The initiation of new project ideas and partnerships uses methods such as international benchmarking of sustainable food tourism products, analysis of European funding sources and elaboration of potential partnerships.

Towards the end of the project the three 3AMK partners jointly introduce a cooperation model for companies and higher education institutions that lends itself to the initiation of international project ideas and consortium building in different ecosystems.
