AI Scalers – Competitiveness through Scaling Multidisciplinary AI Capabilities into RDI Investments

The AI scalers project supports the AI development of SMEs with a new concept that combines initial mapping, coaching and AI maturity analysis.

The main goal of the project is to develop multidisciplinary AI capabilities that promote the scalability of AI in SMEs in Uusimaa, agile innovation management models, and simultaneously new practical applications utilizing AI.

The project combines Haaga-Helia’s business and service design expertise with Metropolia’s technological expertise in AI application. Both complement each other’s skills.

AI application model for companies

The project is implemented by validating an AI application model for companies, which materializes through iterative implementation of training, workshops, and POC (Proof of Concept) concepts. As a result, companies receive a validated AI governance and operating model and information on the types of multidisciplinary capabilities, networks, and technologies they need to apply AI to their business.

A key working method in the project, in addition to company-specific support, is co-development events where companies learn from each other, share experiences, and network.

The project aims to

  1. Identify the current state of AI capabilities in target companies and define the target state.
  2. Define the AI capabilities needed by target companies, AI use cases, operating model, and solution concept.
  3. Implement POC projects that promote the scalability of AI in target companies using a collaboration network.
  4. Develop a “Whole AI service” concept for target companies to adopt and scale AI solutions.
  5. Practice co-development and learning in networks
