Facilitation Training

Facilitation training: continuing education for teachers and trainers

Expert work in a changing and developing organization requires the ability to guide change processes, find collaborative solutions, and utilize group processes. Experts are increasingly expected to take a guiding approach and have the skills to inspire and engage others in joint activities. Facilitation training provides experts with tools to develop interaction skills and to plan and implement effective facilitation.

Target group

  • Experts who guide change processes and development work in the organization
  • Trainers who want to develop their training towards a more participatory and customer-oriented approach.

Training objectives

The aim of the training is to develop experts' facilitation skills, strengthen their facilitator identity, and deepen their understanding of the facilitation process. Facilitation training provides experts with tools to plan and implement effective facilitation sessions and to use various activation and engagement methods.

Training content

  • Planning and implementing effective facilitation sessions
  • Developing personal interaction and communication skills as a facilitator
  • Learning activating and engaging facilitation methods
  • Selecting facilitation methods according to objectives
  • Ensuring continuous development as a facilitator

Implementation

The training consists of two training days and an intermediate task related to one's own work, where participants develop their facilitation skills.

The training can also be implemented on an organizational basis, where the content, implementation, and schedule of the training are planned together with the client. Haaga-Helia School of Professional Teacher Education will make an offer based on the jointly planned implementation.
