Haaga-Helia's Alum of the Year vote is on once again. Alum of the Year has been chosen at Haaga-Helia since 2012.

We received 24 excellent proposals for this year's Alum of the Year during the spring. Thank you for your nominations! 

Three alumni were selected as finalists, and you can read and hear their introductions and greetings below. The Alum of the Year serves as a role model, inspiration and partner for our university. 

Introducing finalists for the Alum of the Year

Jasmin Ngo

Content Creator, Entrepreneur, Travel Influencer of the Year 2024

Studies: Finnish degree programme in Tourism Management, Bachelor of Hospitality Administration (2020)

Reasons for nomination: "Impact on society: being a positive example to others and making a difference to society, either locally or globally. Just won the Tourism Influencer of the Year award at Tubecon Gala. Actively talks about Haaga-Helia in a positive light on social media."

Jukka Niittymaa

Head of AI and Innovations, PhD researcher

Studies: English degree programme Communication management, Master of Business Administration (2021)  

Reasons for nomination:  "After graduation, Jukka has started his doctoral studies at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics. He is a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence, runs a popular YouTube channel and has also lectured to current Master's students, for the love of the game."

Doris Tuohimaa

Managing Director, Entrepreneur and Community Consultant

Studies: Finnish degree programme in Sales, Bachelor of Business Administration (2015)

Reasons for nomination: "Since her graduation, Doris has done significant work through her co-operative PuskaPromotion and in recent years has also served as Managing Director of the national charity Joulupuu ry, leading the organisation to great growth. She is a proud Haaga-Helia alumna who has also cooperated extensively with Haaga-Helia over the years. Doris received a significant commemoration this spring: the Pellervo Coop Center awarded Doris the bronze Gebhard medal."

Haaga-Helia students, alumni, current and retired staff can vote for the winner until 31 August 2024. The winner will be announced and awarded in October.
