Haaga-Helia’s personnel was exceptionally effective in 2019 as we published 741 publications in total, which is 75 per cent more than in 2018.

Haaga-Helia performed well also when compared to other Finnish universities of applied sciences and was placed third in the number of publications. South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) had the most publications in 2019 while LAB University of Applied Sciences was placed second.

The head of RDI, Satu Koivisto, notes that we have focused specially on publications during the last year.

- With the help of publications, we are able to carry out our basic mission set by the law, which is to support and innovate business life and regional development, she says.

In Haaga-Helia, we mostly conduct applied research, which develops various innovations and results. Publications support our RDI activities and increase their societal impact.

- Above all, we want to develop our society, Koivisto underlines.

Anna Hermiö, the producer of Haaga-Helia’s publication platform eSignals, is also pleased with the result.

- I must admit it was a surprise. The total number of publications was beyond our expectations. Professional writing has almost become a routine for many of our specialists and it is a pleasure to follow their progress as writers, she says.

We recently launched our new, improved eSignals which you can view via this link. Our electronic magazine includes expert articles from various fields of business and different viewpoints on current phenomena.
