The ninth Haaga-Helia-trained professional teacher education group graduated in Pretoria

Graduation ceremonies for 31 new teachers were held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the TUT University campus.

In November, another group of professional teachers trained by Haaga-Helia School of Professional Teacher Education graduated in Pretoria, South Africa. Haaga-Helia has been training professional teachers in Pretoria since 2016, and the teacher education group that graduated this autumn is the ninth in order.

The program is a 60-credit English-language professional teacher education program. Haaga-Helia representatives at the graduation ceremony included Crister Nyberg, Director of Haaga-Helia School of Professional Teacher Education, and the group’s instructors, Päivi Aarreniemi-Jokipelto and David Mauffret

A decade of collaboration with Tshwane University of Technology 

In addition to teacher education, Haaga-Helia is currently running the third MBA program (Master’s Degree Programme in Education Management) designed for TUT’s leadership. Haaga-Helia and TUT are also involved in the DIPSU project (Digital Pedagogy as Capacity Building for Sustainability Agents), launched this year and funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education. The project aims to develop digital skills, sustainability competencies, and ethical digital citizenship. Its goal is to strengthen the ability of South African higher education institutions to provide inclusive and digitally supported sustainability education. TUT experts will visit Haaga-Helia in spring 2026 as part of the project.
