Body

The field of aviation is a global and ever-growing environment, where the question of inclusivity and accessibility is especially significant. INCLAVI is an Erasmus+ project, which follows the European Commission’s Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities, which aims to ensure continuous progress in persons with disabilities equality. The aim is to secure equal opportunities in participating in society and economy and moving freely in the EU and secure the opportunity to enjoy human rights without experiencing discrimination.

INCLAVI will contribute to this objective by tackling the skills incompatibilities occurring in the aviation sector, that concern persons with disabilities rights and freedom of movement. The project will be carried out utilizing the expertise that the partners and associated partners and industry actors provide for the program. All key actors and target groups that are involved in the passenger journey from travel agencies, airlines and airports are being re-trained by the program, to offer better service for persons with disabilities.

In the broadest sense the project aims to annually improve the passenger journeys of passengers with disabilities while simultaneously enabling growth for the project with help of aviation industry actors.

Influencing the aviation industry with education and understanding of inclusivity

INCLAVI’s specific objectives for the program consist of understanding of the actual passenger journeys of persons with disabilities and identifying the wide spectrum of disability that is present within all these passenger experiences. This goal is specifically focused on the aviation industry and its employees’ education. The INCLAVI program aims to identify the best practices of inclusive aviation across the aviation sector by benchmarking the best education and training programs that take persons with disabilities into consideration.

The new curriculum is developed with digital means in addition to the more conventional approaches, with an INCLAVI Training App, which is for both higher and vocational education. The goal is to establish the program and get long term validity and real-world application for the curriculum via gathering recognized and certified learning encounters and further dissemination at the major EU airports and airlines. INCLAVI will also make recommendations for global stakeholders involved with the aviation industry and the EU, regarding publishing policies.

The duration of the project is 1.9.2022 - 31.8.2025.
