HHBIC 2020 brought together researchers and experts on entrepreneurship

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences organized its first Business Innovation Conference HHBIC. The keynote speakers were Taru Pilvi, Innovation Director at the University of Tampere, and Paul Jones, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swansea University.

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences organized its first Business Innovation Conference HHBIC on November 17th-18th. The conference of applied research focused on the topic “Entrepreneurship for a better future”.

The conference brought together about 70 entrepreneurship researchers and experts from around the world to present and discuss the latest findings and insights on entrepreneurial topics.

The keynote speakers were Taru Pilvi, Innovation Director at the University of Tampere, Finland, and Paul Jones, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swansea University, UK.

Satu Koivisto, RDI Director at Haaga-Helia and the chair of HHBIC says that organizing the conference was an interesting journey. The aim was to build an academic, applied research conference that will highlight the importance of applied research. 

- For a long time, we have been doing research work that has a wide social impact. That is why it is great that we are able to show our strengths in the international scientific community as well, she says.

Sirpa Holmström, Head of RDI Services at Haaga-Helia who was leading the HHBIC organizing team, is also very satisfied with the conference.

- I am really glad that HHBIC was a truly international conference with experts in and outside Europe. The participants have also commented very positively on their conference experience.

The organizing team of HHBIC2020 would like to cordially thank all participants who contributed to an inspiring and fruitful conference. The conference proceedings will be published at the beginning of the year 2021.
