Haaga-Helia's degree programme in Sports Coaching achieved ICCE endorsement
Haaga-Helia's English degree programme in Sports Coaching and Management has been awarded FULL ICCE endorsement that demonstrates the excellence of the programme. Haaga-Helia became the second institution in the world to obtain this unique and high-quality recognition after undergoing a thorough evaluation process.
The ICCE (International Council for Coaching Excellence) endorsement panel has unanimously decided to award Haaga-Helia degree programme in Sports Coaching and Management a globally unique quality endorsement. With this recognition, Haaga-Helia became the second higher education institution in the world to receive ICCE FULL Level endorsement in sports coaching. Australian La Trobe University was the first to obtain this endorsement, which makes Haaga-Helia the first European institution to receive such acknowledgement.
- This endorsement is an award for the long-term efforts of our talented personnel. It is important for us that during their studies, students develop themselves as individuals and as sports professionals, and they can advance athlete-centered coaching culture around the world, says Degree Director Teppo Rantala.
In the evaluation process, the syllabus, curricula and delivery of the degree programme in Sports Coaching and Management were analysed under the terms of the ICCE's International Sport Coaching Bachelor's Degree Standards (ICCE, 2016). Two independent reviewers gave the degree programme an excellent average score of 85 per cent in the analysis.
The endorsement means that Haaga-Helia is authorised to carry the title of "ICCE Endorsed at FULL Level" for the degree programme in Sports Coaching and Management.
The ICCE is a not-for-profit, global organisation established in 1997 with the mission of leading and developing sports coaching globally. ICCE members seek to enhance the quality of coaching at every level of sport. Today, the ICCE is present in over 50 countries.
