HRS4R stands for Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. It is a quality label awarded by the European Commission to organisations that commit to improving the working conditions of researchers and supporting their professional growth. The certificate is based on the European Charter for Researchers and the Recruitment Code, which contain 40 principles for a fair and open research work culture.
The certificate brings many benefits. It strengthens the organisation's reputation as an attractive and responsible employer, increases international visibility and improves access to EU funding. The HRS4R logo is also a concrete message to international researchers that Haaga-Helia is committed to a high-quality and fair research culture.
From a researcher's point of view, the HRS4R certificate indicates that the organisation offers good working conditions, supports training and career development, values internationality and takes care of work-life balance. Recruitment practices are open and transparent, and development work is carried out continuously.
Haaga-Helia's action plan
The HRS4R certificate is accompanied by an action plan to further develop the position and working environment of researchers. Haaga-Helia's plan can be found on our website.
The certificate is initially awarded for two years, after which progress is assessed, and a new plan is drawn up for the next three-year period. After this, the certificate is applied for again.
