Developing Professional Competencies Course

Are you interested in event management? What to help plan Haaga-Helia's biggest career event?

This semester, Career Services is organising a 5-credit project-based course, Developing Professional Competencies. The goal of the project is for our students to design, plan, and produce our biggest career event of the academic year, Duuniin.net.

About the course

The course will pair both Finnish and English degree students into separate teams to tackle different aspects of planning the event. In the course, you have the opportunity to:

• plan, organise, produce, and wrap up the Duuniin.net 2026
• budget the event
• contacting companies
• create marketing materials and campaigns for both students and companies

During the course, students will be divided into separate teams to tackle different aspects of event planning, depending on the students' interests, studies, and previous experience.

By taking part in this course students have the opportunity to learn what it is like to work in a multicultural workplace, gain valuable work experience, build their company contacts, and receive recommendations for future job applications.
