50 000 Together alumni celebration brought our growing community together

The event brought former classmates together and gave alumni a chance to meet new people. Connections were made both through meetings arranged on Brella and in informal conversations. Many participants said they had reunited with classmates after years apart. Teachers were delighted to see their former students and hear how Haaga-Helia graduates are doing today.

The evening was hosted by Alumni Relations Specialist Elina El Amrani and Haaga-Helia double-alumna, journalist Pauliina Grym. The President, CEO Susanna Niinistö-Sivuranta opened the event. Headhunter Tomi Hilvo spoke about the neurochemistry of networking and how to bring out your strengths naturally when meeting others.

Six perspectives for the evening

Participants could choose from six parallel sessions based on their interests, regardless of which degree they had completed. The programme celebrated 30 years of the Finnish-language bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology and ten years of the master’s degree programme in Journalism. Other sessions explored a thriving workplace culture, learning through collaboration with businesses, and the conditions for growth and psychological safety. One group toured the new RestoCamp facilities in Mall of Tripla.

The event was organised in collaboration with Haaga-Helia’s degree programmes and Creative Agency Krea. Guests also joined in the housewarming party for StartUp School and Taseco. In their feedback, participants particularly praised the atmosphere, talks and opportunities to connect. Their comments also gave us useful ideas for planning future events.
