Opening of the Academic Year
The Opening of the Academic Year is a celebration for the entire Haaga-Helia community, where we welcome new and continuing degree students, as well as all staff members, to kick off the new academic year together.
Welcome to the opening for the 2026–2027 academic year on Thursday, 20 August 2026, starting at 13:00 at the Pasila, Porvoo, and Vierumäki campuses.
Programme
- Opening remarks by the President, CEO, Susanna Niinistö-Sivuranta
- Speech by Helga student union
- Dance performance by Samba com Sama
- Live music by Nelli Matula
The event is hosted by our student Gabriel Haratani.
The programme will be live streamed from Pasila campus to Porvoo and Vierumäki campuses. Sparkling wine (non-alcoholic) and sweet treats will be served after the programme.
There is no specific dress code for the event; please come as you are.
Registration
We ask all participants to register for the event so we can prepare enough refreshments.
