Mentoring Programme – Speed Up Your Career with Alumni
Would you like to have a personal mentor to help you get ahead in your studies or work?
Haaga-Helia offers semester-long mentoring programmes, which are part of the key studies of the Bachelor of Arts degree. Master's students are also welcome to participate, but they do not receive credits for the programme. Participation is recommended at the end of your studies.
To take part in mentoring, you must have a concrete goal (or a few goals) that you are working on with your mentor. Your goals could be career planning, finding a work placement or a job, facing challenges in the world of work, changing your professional field, thinking about your orientation, dreaming of working abroad, developing yourself or getting to know the Finnish work culture. You can join the Finnish-language programme Uralle vahtia alumnnien avulla or the English-language programme Speed Up Your Career with Alumni.
During the programme, the student is assigned a personal mentor from a Haaga-Helia alumni. Mentoring is mutual learning and sharing experiences and knowledge with the mentor. For international students, mentoring is a great opportunity to gain insight and networks into Finnish working life. In addition to your own mentor, we network with the whole group.
What does the programme require?
To get the most out of mentoring, you need to be able to define your own goals. You must be proactive: you must be able to arrange one-to-one meetings with your mentor and commit to the process of meeting your mentor at least 4 times. There will also be a total of 4 group meetings. You must also be prepared to interact with your mentor. We usually use peer mentoring, very rarely group or peer mentoring.
You can register for the course via Peppi during the registration period. The compulsory pre-enrolment questionnaire must be answered within the following week after the end of the enrolment period (even if it is no longer an active semester). Late registration will not be opened at all.

Registration is open at Peppi from 14 to 22 May 2025. A mandatory pre-registration questionnaire will be sent by email no later than Monday 26 May, and must be answered by Sunday 1 June. Late registration for the course is not possible.
