ITB Berlin Study Tour
ITB Berlin is the world’s largest travel fair in its category. Haaga-Helia’s students organise an annual study trip to this event.
Challenge:
Representing Finland at the ITB Berlin Fair under Visit Finland and organising the Party Like a Finn evening at the Nordic Embassy together with Kelkkaprojekti.
The ITB Berlin Fair is one of the world’s largest travel fairs. Students from Haaga-Helia’s Porvoo campus planned the entire trip for their study group. In addition to the practical arrangements, they took care of communication with partners and organised introductory visits to interesting local companies.
At the fair, the students worked at Visit Finland’s pavilion and helped build the fair area. Together with Kelkkaprojekti, they got to organise the Party Like a Finn evening at the Nordic Embassy. The purpose of the project was to give the students a unique opportunity to familiarise themselves with event planning and work in an international environment and gain experience with partner cooperation and networking.
Result: The project was successful overall. The students gained good international work experience, and all parties were satisfied with their input.
