I work as a Senior Lecturer of Aviation Business at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. I teach the same topics at ChongQing University of Science and Technology in China. My speciality areas are Strategy and Airport Business, but I focus strongly also on the Leadership and Sustainability questions.

I worked for 13 years at Helsinki Airport as the Vice President of Airline Operations. I was a member of the management team of the airport. I’ve worked with all the stakeholders at the airport and seen the aviation world in both good and the bad days. Safety and crisis leadership are close to my heart. Before my career in aviation I worked in different positions in venture capital, financing and business development industries in Finland and abroad.

I’ve graduated from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) as a Master of Science in Engineering. My master was Corporate Strategy and International Marketing. I have completed the Global Leader management diploma at Aalto University Executive Education. I will complete a pedagogical degree by the end of the year 2022.

My areas of expertise focus on the aviation business as well as strategical development in corporate environments. The aviation industry is going through big changes because of the megatrends like environmental sustainability and digitalization. At the same time the pandemia and the geopolitical changes are causing challenges for the business. The strategy transformations within the various ecosystem stakeholders as well as in the whole industry are ongoing and visible. It’s important to understand the big picture and the potential scenarios where the world is going to. It’s also important to be prepared to all kinds of unexpected situations gives certainty for building sustainable businesses.
