As a Haaga-Helia degree student, you may apply for a grant for a work placement abroad. Depending on your work placement, you may be granted an Erasmus+ internship grant or Haaga-Helia's own work placement grant. You are eligible for a grant also if you are an international degree student at Haaga-Helia and complete your placement in Finland and are not entitled to Kela's student aid. Erasmus+ work placement grant

Erasmus+ work placement may be completed in a company, in private and public organizations, embassies or consular offices of the sending Programme Country or in higher education institutions in EU-countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden), in ETA/EFTA -countries (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and in Turkey. 

Grant rules: 

  • Work placement duration 2-5 months 
  • Students must be insured 
  • It is not allowed to change company once the placement has started

Erasmus+ work placement grant is not available in these cases: 

  • If the student has already participated in an Erasmus+ exchange and/or work placement totaling up to 12 months during the current cycle of study or if the forthcoming placement would exceed the maximum duration of mobility (12 months) 
  • If the traineeship is from a European Union organization listed on their website or organizations managing EU programs (e.g. National Agencies) 

Haaga-Helia Work Placement Grant

Haaga-Helia work placement grant is available for you if: 

  • You complete your placement in a non-EU country, or in an EU institution which is not eligible for Erasmus funding (e.g. EU-organizations)  
  • Your placement duration is under two months, when the grant can be awarded also for EU countries 
  • You are international degree student at Haaga-Helia and complete your placement in Finland and are not entitled to Kela's student aid 

Grant rules 

  • Work placement duration is 1-5 months 
  • Students must be insured 
  • Students who are entitled to both the Erasmus+ work placement grant and the Haaga-Helia work placement grant must apply for the Erasmus+ work placement grant.  

There is an annual budget for the Haaga-Helia work placement grants. In case the maximum amount is reached, a notification is posted on this page.
