The UAS Moves project supports the physical, psychical and social well-being of students and the entire higher education community through movement and physical activity.
The UAS Moves project continues the work of the 3AMK Moves project, which developed higher education culture in the academic year 2024–25.
Objectives
Activity etiquette – active everyday life as part of daily life
The aim is to instill practices that support physical activity as part of everyday studies and work. We implement university-specific plans, such as Haaga-Helia Moves and Laurea Moves, which support systematic change. We promote the opportunities and attractiveness of everyday physical activity, and we ensure that students are involved in both planning and implementing the increase in physical activity.
Movement-centred pedagogy – movement as part of learning
We disseminate the principles of movement-centred pedagogy to the entire higher education community and cooperation networks. We will develop movement mentor and movement agent activities in a network-like manner. We promote research, development, innovation and learning (RDIL) activities from the perspective of movement-centred pedagogy and share expertise with partners.
Movement pilots – concrete experiments to support students' physical activity
We are targeting measures especially to support students who do not exercise much. We strengthen students' ability, motivation and opportunities to make physical activity choices that support health and learning. We create more opportunities for physical activity and movement in the community.
The UAS Moves project is linked to the Government Programme Get Finland Moving and the project cooperates with the On the Move programme's Moving study (Liikkuva opiskelu) functions. The project has received funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
