Research and development network eMobilityTKIO to support the test environment of the West Avia business and aviation park

Between 2023 and 2025, an eMobilityHUB network focused on electric mobility has been established in the Seinäjoki region. The network brings together organizations in need of development support, research and education institutions, funding channels, and companies operating in the sector.

Since summer 2025, the HUB has been integrated into the West Avia business and aviation park ecosystem.

The project aims to build an active national and international RDI (Research, Development and Innovation) network that can respond rapidly to the growing information, development, and research needs of West Avia and the eMobilityHUB, while also strengthening companies’ sustainability competencies.

Within the project, the following actions will be carried out:

  • Expanding the scope of activities beyond electric mobility
  • Integrating the eMobility network into the West Avia Innovation Network framework
  • Engaging national and international research and development organizations in the network
  • Channeling companies’ development challenges to RDI organizations for solution development
  • Organizing an event based on a development theme identified by companies
  • Organizing an event focused on the role of sustainability expertise in evolving business environments
  • Collecting data on companies’ RDI expectations, RDI experiences, and sustainability competence needs
