The Metacog project aims to strengthen AI literacy to tackle disinformation and fake news, fostering civic engagement and shared values in European societies.
This initiative focuses on equipping European citizens, particularly higher education students and teachers, with the skills to identify and counter disinformation and fake news.
Objectives of the project are:
Increase AI Literacy: Develop an AI literacy program to help citizens understand and use AI tools effectively in identifying disinformation.
Educational Outreach: Implement an educational program including classroom activities, a MOOC, webinars, a teacher’s guide, a handbook, and a toolkit.
Develop Teaching Frameworks: Create a taxonomy and framework for teaching AI literacy in the context of disinformation.
Promote Best Practices: Share best practices and pilot cases to enhance digital awareness and inclusion.
