KIRKAS – Profitability of circular economy

Companies have already taken their first steps in the circular economy, but ensuring practical tools, clear metrics and financial profitability remains challenging. The circular economy requires companies to think and compete in new ways – especially from the perspectives of financial monitoring, accounting and taxation.

The aim of the KIRKAS project is to strengthen the ability of SMEs to plan and implement profitable circular economy business. It provides practical tools and dashboards that enable companies to evaluate and develop their operations on a financially sustainable basis. At the same time, the project will increase understanding of how responsibility and resource efficiency can go hand in hand with profitability.

Results of the project

• digital tools, calculation models, templates and indicators related to the financial planning and monitoring of circular economy business
• visual materials for companies related to circular economy business
• modelling of launch and maintenance of a circular economy cluster in a municipality.
