How to apply for student exchange to Haaga-Helia?

• We recommend using the Chrome browser or the newest version of Firefox to login. We cannot guarantee that the application form works correctly with other browsers! 
• Use your university email when you register. Do not use Hotmail email address for registering, because automatic emails do not always reach Hotmail addresses.
  • Make sure that you write your email correctly when registering so that you will get the confirmation to complete the registering. 
• When registering to the portal, please note that your password must include at least: 8 characters, 1 special character, 1 digit.
  • If you forget your password, you can retrieve it through the system automatically. 
• If you did not get the automatic confirmation email to complete the registering after you registered to the system, please check your email's junk folder if it is there.
• Be patient as the application system might be slow at times.

You can apply to Haaga-Helia as an Erasmus+ student if you were a registered student in a higher education institution in Ukraine at the time of the Russian attack against Ukraine. You can prove your student status with one of the following documents: a certificate of registration/enrolment, a  transcript of records, or a certificate from your university in Ukraine or another appropriate authority confirming your student status. 

In addition, you need to be able to study at Haaga-Helia in English. The mimimum language level is B1 (CEFR). You can prove your English language skills with one of the following documents: a certified English test result (TOEFL, IELTS), a test result from your home institution or EU Academy English placement test result (instructions to create EU login). PLEASE NOTE: If you are currently studying a degree program in English, have previously completed a degree in English or speak English as your native language, this does not apply to you.

Haaga-Helia can accept up to 5 students fleeing the war in Ukraine for the academic year 2023/2024 (August 2023 - May 2024). The first 5 eligible students sending an application will be selected.

Those accepted at Haaga-Helia as Erasmus+ students fleeing the war in Ukraine are eligible for an Erasmus+ grant. Erasmus+ individual support is 1150 € monthly and travel support is 275 €. Students are required to fill out Erasmus+ Grant Agreement and Learning Agreement in order to receive the Erasmus+ grant.

• Proof of English proficiency. PLEASE NOTE: If you are currently studying a degree program in English, have previously completed a degree in English or speak English as your native language, this does not apply to you.
• Copy of your passport (applies only to non-EU/EEA citizens who need a visa). If you do not have one now, please email a copy to exch@haaga-helia.fi later.

Students who are placed in Helsinki have to apply for accommodation with a separate application available on Hoas' website. Students who apply to Helsinki are advised to submit the housing application as soon as possible because housing offers are made on a first-come first-serve basis after the admission has been confirmed.

Applicants should note that the decision on the acceptance of the student as a free mover student to Haaga-Helia is done on a case-by-case basis. 

The applicant is currently a degree student of a higher education institution in the same field of study that the student wishes to study at Haaga-Helia UAS.

Application deadlines:

• 19 April for the Autumn semester
• 15 October the Spring semester

• Official certificate of attendance from home university 
• Official transcript of records from home university 
•  Recommendation letter from home university 
•  Course plan for the free mover period (list of Haaga-Helia courses you wish to study)
• Proof of English proficiency, such as a certified English test result (TOEFL, IELTS), a testimony from your English teacher or a test result from your home institution

Students will be informed by 31 October / 15 May if they are accepted for free mover student exchange to Haaga-Helia.

The students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland will receive payment instructions for the tuition fee and fee-paying student agreement. The visa invitation and credentials for course enrolment will be sent after the payment is confirmed. 

A student who is expected to pay tuition fees should be prepared to present the following documents after acceptance:
