The Ulysseus joint degree, AI for Business Transformation, has now received the international European Approach accreditation. The program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving business innovation and transformation.

The UlysseusAI degree program will begin at Haaga-Helia in January 2025 and will be implemented in collaboration with five other Ulysseus partner universities. Haaga-Helia coordinates the programme. This is the first time a Finnish University of Applied Sciences has received the sought-after international European Approach accreditation, which sets standards for joint degrees across the European higher education area.

The degree is completed in three European countries

Students of the UlysseusAI program will study at least at three different universities in Europe: Haaga-Helia in Finland, MCI Innsbruck in Austria, and depending on their chosen specialization, either the University of Seville in Spain or the Technical University of Košice in Slovakia.

Haaga-Helia, MCI and the University of Seville will award the joint degree, with the program also involving the Université of Côte d’Azur in France and the University of Genoa in Italy. The program is worth 120 ECTS credits.

European Approach Accreditation

  • The European Approach process evaluates, among other things, the joint degree's curriculum, quality assurance, joint development, the support provided to students, and the achievement of the standards that are based on the agreed tools of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
  • The evaluation was conducted by an international, multidisciplinary expert group, which noted that the degree creates significant added value by combining AI expertise with business development in a novel way.
  • The accreditation was granted by the German AQAS agency (Agency for Quality Assurance) and it was awarded on August 28, 2024.

Application period for the UlysseusAI degree program is currently ongoing and will close on September 11, 2024.
