Finnish libraries and library services are celebrated annually on 19 March by celebrating Library Day. The purpose of the Library Day is to remind people of the unique and diverse services of libraries, which have an internationally high utilisation rate. Libraries are significant promoters of education and equality in Finland.

In honour of the Library Day, we are announcing the third reading challenge in a row, for which we got our new president and CEO, Susanna Niinistö-Sivuranta, as a patron.

Susanna is an avid and versatile reader herself. To unwind after a workday, she turns to either a detective novel or a poetry book, depending on her mood. She also has a reliable remedy for news fatigue
"When the flow of news in the world really makes you anxious, read a Moomin book!

Susanna emphasises the importance of reading in the development of thinking: It doesn't matter what you read, the most important thing is that you read at all.

So take up the reading challenge, read ten books during the year!
