Body

Valio Aimo is a wholesale operator serving the hotel and restaurant sector, public-sector food service providers, and the food industry, and will in the future place even stronger emphasis on students as well. The wholesaler has chosen the XL partnership as its form of collaboration, which offers broader visibility among students than Haaga-Helia’s other partner packages.

– It is important for us to build future competences together and to be involved in developing the next generation of the field. At the same time, we gain valuable sparring and new perspectives for our own operations, says Jaakko Lovio, Head of Marketing at Valio Aimo.

Competences, students and hands-on activities

Valio Aimo aims to offer students learning through practice as well as genuine opportunities within courses and projects. Tiina Yrjölä, Senior Lecturer in Culinary Management at Haaga-Helia, leads the collaboration in the role of partner manager and acts as a bridge between the students and Valio Aimo.

– It is great to embark on this collaboration, and wonderful that student collaboration in particular is at the heart of the activities, Yrjölä comments.

The aim of the collaboration is to produce concrete benefits, especially for students in the field and for the industry as a whole.

– Strong links with industry and working on real assignments and development are at the core of the Bachelor of Hospitality Management education. We are extremely pleased with this collaboration, which aligns perfectly with the launch of RestoCamp, also states Risto Karmavuo, Degree Director of the Bachelor of Hospitality Management education at Haaga-Helia.

Valio Aimo and Haaga-Helia are enthusiastically embarking on the development of a partnership. The collaboration is summed up in a sentence that reflects their shared ambition:

– Our goal is to bring together expertise, Haaga-Helia students and hands-on practice and through that, to build the future of the foodservice industry together, Jaakko Lovio summarises.
