Once your friend or contact has been accepted, and they have accepted their study place, paid the first year’s tuition fee, received the study right, arrived in Finland, and registered in person in Haaga-Helia's campus and started their studies, you’ll receive a €500 referral fee (excluding possible taxes).*

* Student Referral Programme Terms and conditions

By participating in the Student Referral Programme, the current student, referred to as the “Referrer,” agrees to and accepts these Terms and Conditions.

By participating, the Referrer acknowledges that all decisions made by Haaga-Helia are final and binding.

The Referrer may submit their friend’s or contact's details via Lyyti only after the referred person has given explicit consent for their information to be shared with Haaga‑Helia for the purpose of the referral, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR).

Haaga-Helia may contact the applicant to verify the referral and the applicant's consent before any referral payment is paid.

The referral payment applies only to non-EU/EEA and Swiss citizens who are required to pay tuition fees for Haaga-Helia's degree programmes and who reside outside Finland at the time of application.

The Student Referral Programme applies only to bachelor’s degree programmes delivered and taught directly by Haaga-Helia.

Due to data protection and privacy regulations, the Referrer will not receive updates regarding their friend's or contact's application status or tuition fee payment status.

The Referrer will only be informed once the tuition fee has been received, and the referral payment may become eligible.

The €500 referral payment is not valid if the applicant uses an education agent. Referral payments are granted only for genuine peer recommendations.

If the Referrer acts as an education agent, receives any compensation from the applicant, or otherwise acts unethically, the referral will be deemed ineligible.

To be eligible for the €500 referral payment, the Referrer must be a current Haaga-Helia student, have a Finnish bank account and reside in Finland.

The Referrer is responsible for any taxes related to the €500 referral payment.

Referral payments are made no earlier than September for the August intake, and February for the January intake.

If more than one person is indicated as the Referrer for the same applicant contrary to the applicable instructions, the €500 referral payment shall be payable only to the person whose name was submitted first in the application.

In line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Culture, all institutional collaboration with Russian and Belarusian universities and other institutions – including private agencies – has been suspended until further notice. Therefore, the Referrer is unfortunately not permitted to carry out student referral activities in or targeting Russia or Belarus.

Haaga-Helia reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Student Referral Programme pilot at any time.
