MyDigiCOOP fosters social entrepreneurship in Finland, Spain and Romania

The aim of the new MyDigiCoop project is to foster social entrepreneurship among European higher education students. The project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme kicked off in March this year.

— Social entrepreneurship is linked to social enterprises, whose primary goal is not to maximize profit, but a strong will to do more than necessary. Social enterprises often operate on a cooperative basis, explains Maija Suonpää, Project Manager in Haaga-Helia.

Solutions for a more equal society

The project will create personalized digital learning paths for students. This is done by equipping HE educators with innovative online tools and competencies to foster social-cooperative entrepreneurship among their students.  

–We need to find new mindsets and solutions for a more equal social society. Our students as future entrepreneurs play key roles in creating value in products and services they offer to the market and transmit to consumers, Suonpää opens up the background of the project.

Three universities are involved in the international project: Haaga-Helia (Finland), Mondragon University (Spain) and the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (ULBS, Romania).
