This year, more than 220 students have already graduated from the Haaga-Helia's Vocational Teacher programme. The joint graduation ceremony was celebrated in Pasila.
The ceremony included a speech to the new teachers by Crister Nyberg, Director of the School of Vocational Teacher Education.
– Teachers are increasingly important bridge-builders in the world. These bridges have been built during the studies, creating new and impressive networks that will hopefully continue to expand as the studies draw to a close, said Nyberg, who emphasised the impact of education in the working life.
– VET teacher education reaches a huge number of professionals and influences countless sectors of the working life. The impact is therefore huge.
In addition to Helsinki, students can also study to become a teacher at Haaga- Helia in Porvoo and Turku. The graduation ceremony of the Turku teacher training group took place earlier in May. In May, Haaga-Helia also graduated vocational special needs teachers and guidance counsellors. This year, nearly 50 special needs teachers and guidance counsellors have graduated.
Congratulations to all graduates!
