In 2025, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences participated in the preparation of 14 Horizon Europe proposals, three of which were awarded funding in spring 2026.
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s flagship research and innovation programme, attracting competition from leading organisations and institutions across Europe.
– Success in Horizon Europe requires strong expertise, extensive networks and thorough preparation. This achievement reflects long-term commitment and demonstrates that Haaga-Helia’s expertise is increasingly recognised in international research, development and innovation collaboration, says Salla Huttunen, Vice President responsible for research and development at Haaga-Helia.
Throughout 2025, Haaga-Helia invested in strengthening staff capabilities, providing proposal development support and building international partnerships.
Receiving funding for three projects is proof of the high quality of our work and the success of our development efforts. I am truly delighted and proud of this achievement, Huttunen adds.
Funded projects
Haaga-Helia’s Horizon Europe projects will begin during autumn 2026. The initiatives are international collaborative projects involving a wide range of European partners, including higher education institutions, companies and other organisations.
Eurocyber Nexus
Eurocyber Nexus brings together key stakeholders and develops a roadmap for interregional cybersecurity innovation collaboration across Europe.
INGERA – INtegration of the next GEneration Regional Aircraft into ATM for zero/low emission aviation
The project develops solutions to support the safe and sustainable integration of next-generation low-emission aircraft into air traffic management systems.
EVOLVE – European Vision for Optimising Learning, Validation and Employment
EVOLVE addresses skills shortages by leveraging artificial intelligence and international collaboration based on staff exchanges to develop innovative workforce solutions.
