Haaga-Helia offers several methods for recognition of learning. You can progress in your studies, for example, by using recognition of prior learning or by using work-based learning during studies.
Proceed like this:
- Check your study plan and the learning outcomes of the modules/courses in it. Consider whether you can gain skills over the summer that match the content of a course.
- Choose whether you want to demonstrate or do studies by Work & Study.
If you already have learned the learning outcomes of the course, you can show your skills at a demonstration.
If you haven’t learned the learning outcomes yet but you will learn it while working, you should participate Work & Study process. In Work & Study you first make a plan with your teacher to acquire the skills for one or more courses independently. Then you work and study the subject at the same time. Finally, you demonstrate your skills as agreed. It is recommended that you complete at least 5-10 credits at a time.
Please note that it is possible only to demonstrate Haaga-Helia’s key competences.
- Discuss with your guidance counsellor especially if you are wondering how demonstrations and Work & Study will affect your studies in autumn.
- Make it happen! If you want to demonstrate some courses, contact the teacher responsible or your own guidance counsellor.
